Colors
Colors have symbolism and colour meanings that
go beyond ink. Colors are used as non-verbal communication;
they express feelings and enliven language. Colors
sometimes create a physical reaction and children
with especially needs are no exception to it all.
Warm colors represent change as in the changing
of the seasons or the eruption of a volcano, which
is so typical with children with ASD and LD.
Pink, Gold and Purple will be significant colors
(where possible) that Divinity Especial Needs
Intervention Centre will use.
Pink which is the lighter and soothing cool side
of the warm palette, tones down the strong emotions,
which we hope to achieve. Pink is the universal
color for love and pink also provides feelings
of caring, tenderness, self-worth, love and acceptance.
Gold is intimately linked with Divinity and it
symbolizes Wealth, Success and Good Health, which
we hope for all our children and the staff of
the centre.
Purple is royalty and is also associated with
both nobility and spirituality. Purple is considered
delicate and precious and that is what children
with disabilities/disorder are at Divinity Especial
Needs Intervention Centre. Purple can boost a
child's imagination or an artist's creativity
and this is important for children with ASD, as
one of the triats of impairment is lack of imagination.
The boldly gold-bordered heart of soft pink with
purple and pink maze lines symbolizes, 'a heart
of gold', and that everything is possible with
passion and dedication.
The boldly gold-bordered, deep purple hand of
the adult and the Childs' symbolizes loyalty to
serve and be served.
